As someone who graduated from a metals program a few years back and is now out in the world trying to make a living I really enjoy seeing this work from beginning metals students. It is free of all of the crap and opinions that get piled on after spending to much time around the industry. Thank you very much for your great blog. I have to say that looking at things like this remind me why I continue to make jewelry
I love seeing your students' work, its always amazing! You are obviously an excellent teacher!! We didn't have anything like that come from our metals 1 class and probably not even metals 2!
These are impressive. I'm in metals 2 now at UToledo (where we just found out they are killing the program next year!) and to have that many high quality pieces seems mind boggling.
I noticed they are all cold connection. Does soldering come later in the curriculum? We started with it first thing in Metals 1. I blame unruly solder for half my difficulties.
Yes, the first project is a piercing and riveting project. Soldering starts with the second project. Thanks for your comments!
