Here is another project I did with my 3D students this semester. Inflatable sculptures. We used clear plastic sheeting and clear packing tape. This project is really great for teaching them how to work large scale. Also, I always time the project during the nicest part of the year (March and October) so we get to work outside in the beautiful Arizona weather!Wiener Dog! Well, the day of inflation went great (other than the major sunburn I got and the fact that I had to run and check on the beasts every hour because the tape kept melting and the seams kept opening up.) Its only Easter and we are already in 90 degree weather! I love it:)

This semester I am teaching Three Dimensional Design at ASU. It has been really fun, but recently has been WAY fun! Tomorrow we will be inflating some large sculptures (16 feet in one dimension). If you need something to do, stop by for some excitement!

I am a metalsmith, educator, wife, and mother, living the life of an ex-pat in Doha, Qatar. I moved to Doha from Arizona, where I had previously spent most of my life. I earned a Bachelors of fine art in metals in 2006, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Metals in 2010. I was the resident artist at the Mesa Art Center from 2010-2013, and an adjunct professor in metals at Central Arizona College. I am currently trying to balance navigating/living in a foreign country with being a mother and a practicing artist.
