Earrings Galore
This summer I am participating in the Earrings Galore show again at Heidi Lowe Gallery in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. The show runs June5th-July6th. I really wish I could be there to see it but its just too far for me to go. If any of you get the chance to see it you definitely should, and let me know what you think!
This is actually the sort of soft debut of some pieces in the new production line I am working on. All the pieces below (and the one directly above) are designs I am thinking about for the new line I will be launching later this summer. Hopefully they will do well at the show!

“Last year, ‘Earrings Galore’ was one of our most successful shows,” gallery owner Lowe said. “This year I am finding a new, fun, and unexpected way to display the earrings. The type of earring someone wears can say a lot about the person. So, I am displaying a lot of different styles to appeal to as many women as possible. The display will only enhance the earrings’ ‘cool factor’.”
The show will be on display until July 6 and features artists from across the United States as well as London."

Spoon Handle Earring Group
I don't think I've posted an image of the whole group of these on here yet. These earrings are all made from antique baby spoon handles. The spoon bowls were made into the necklace at the bottom of this post. I have one pair of handles left...I think I am going to make a mold so I can cast more of these. I really like the earrings but know I will probably never find a set of baby spoons again, much less a set of 12, so if I make a mold I can make more of the earrings. I may use these to apply to the Earrings show at Heidi Lowe Gallery...not sure yet.

Tell Me What You Think of These...
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I've been spending the weekend thoroughly enjoying having the studio to myself. ASU's studio is combined, grads and undergrads, which is usually great and I love it...just lately (as my thesis date is looming closer and closer) I have been really needing some silent alone working time in there! This weekend has been wonderful for that, although I still didn't get as much done as I would have liked.
Here are some earrings I am playing around with. Tell me what you think...I can't decide if I think they are cheesy or not (I obviously don't want them to be, but if they are I want to know!) They are made from antique spoon handles on a children's silver spoon set. I like the idea of taking something that once belonged in a home, had a function, was associated with certain memories, and making it a new, wearable, re-invented heirloom. New Earrings
Something I have wanted to do for a really long time is create a production line of my embroidered jewelry. I think I am finally off to a good start! The earrings below are pieces I created for the Earrings show at Heidi Lowe Gallery.
